Trust Title Privacy Policy
Trust Title Company has a goal to "earn your trust through excellence." It is our policy to protect non-public information from any nonaffiliated third party. It is our policy and obligation to keep all information about you secure and confidential. That is why we have established a Privacy Policy that protects the security of any public and nonpublic personal and financial information a lender or you provide to us. The purpose of this policy statement is to explain our practices with regard to protecting all of your personal information.
Information we receive:
Trust Title's business is title insurance and settlement services for real estate transactions. We receive information about you (for instance, your name, address, telephone number), and information about your transaction, including the identity of the real property that you are buying or financing. We obtain a copy of any deeds, notes, or mortgages that are involved in the transaction. We may receive this information from you or from the lender, attorney, or real estate broker that you have chosen.
Either directly or through other companies we obtain information from the public records about the property so that we can prepare a title insurance policy. When we provide closing, escrow, or settlement services we may receive your social security number, and we may receive additional information from third parties including appraisals, credit reports, land surveys, escrow account balances, and bank account numbers to facilitate the transaction. We may disclose personal information about you to a carefully selected group of service providers and third parties that assist us in the title insurance or settlement process and who are part of the loan transaction process. These parties include, but are not limited to, federal and state regulators, real estate agents, mortgage brokers, title abstractors and lenders. We may disclose information about you as required by law.
While we receive information about your income and assets, we only disclose this data to third parties who must have it for the loan decision-making or servicing process.
Use of the information we receive:
Trust Title Company does not share your information with marketers. We share your information only to provide the service requested by you or your lender, or as required by law. The privacy laws permit some sharing without your approval. We may share internally and with nonaffiliated third parties in order to carry out and service your transaction, to protect against fraud or unauthorized transactions, and to provide information to government and law enforcement agencies. Credit information about you is shared only to facilitate your transaction or for some other purpose required by law.
Protection of the information we receive:
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need the information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with law to guard your nonpublic personal information. We reinforce the company's privacy policy with our employees.
